Job Description

Community Operations Assistant:

We are a founder-built mental health community and referral platform serving Orange County. We connect therapists, mental health professionals, treatment centers, wellness providers, and community partners through our professional network, directory, membership, resource boards, partnerships, and events.

Our community connects thousands of mental health professionals, agencies, treatment centers, and wellness providers.

Project Overview

I’m looking for a reliable, organized assistant to help turn ideas into action and keep projects moving from planning to completion. This role combines part-time operations and administrative support, community marketing, and event coordination.

Role & Responsibilities

We’ll check in regularly to review priorities and upcoming projects, then work together to ensure everything gets completed on time and accurately.

Responsibilities include:

  • Email marketing: Preparing and sending Mailchimp newsletters and member communications.
  • Social media: Creating content, scheduling posts, and engaging with our community.
  • Community operations: Emailing members, maintaining calendars, posting events, and supporting membership and partnership activities.
  • Administrative support: Managing tasks, organizing projects, and helping keep day-to-day operations running smoothly.
  • Event coordination: Supporting the planning, promotion, and execution of community events.
  • Project follow-through: Keeping track of deadlines, reviewing work carefully, and making sure details don’t fall through the cracks.

This role supports our community and business operations, including our professional directory, referral network, memberships, resource boards, partnerships, and events. It does not involve providing clinical care.

Who I’m Looking For

I’m looking for someone who is dependable, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while staying in regular communication with me.

The ideal person:

  • Is highly organized, responsible, and consistent with follow-through.
  • Communicates clearly and is comfortable with phone calls and texting.
  • Takes initiative, asks questions when needed, and can help turn ideas into actionable plans.
  • Reviews their work for accuracy before considering a task complete.
  • Understands general small-business operations, professionalism, and best practices.
  • Has social media experience and is comfortable with email marketing platforms.
  • Has an interest in mental health and a genuine appreciation for the work we do.

Experience in the mental health field is a plus, but reliability, good judgment, organization, and strong communication skills are especially important.

Hours & Communication

Expected workload: 10–15 hours per week

Initially, I need someone available during the California workday so we can communicate regularly and establish a good working rhythm.

We’ll start with frequent check-ins, ideally daily, and gradually move to a couple of times per week and eventually weekly as we develop a system that works well for both of us.

Being reachable by text is essential, even as routine check-ins become less frequent. A different time zone is fine as long as you’re able to accommodate California business hours when needed.

Start Date & Compensation

Start date: ASAP
Hourly rate: $20–$30, depending on experience

Pay: $25.83 - $30.11 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 15.0 per week

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule

Application Question(s):

  • Our needs vary from week to week and may include newsletters, social media, member communications, event coordination, and administrative projects. Are you comfortable switching between different types of tasks and helping determine what needs attention first?
  • Are you comfortable communicating regularly by text and phone calls? This role requires frequent communication initially, with check-ins becoming less frequent as we establish a workflow. Please describe your availability for calls and how quickly you typically respond to work-related texts during your working hours.
  • What experience do you have with administrative support, project coordination, social media management, or email marketing? Please briefly describe relevant experience and the platforms you’ve used, such as Mailchimp, Canva, or social media scheduling tools and what you use to stay organized.
