Job Title: Altium Designer

Location: (Remote),New York, NY

Duration: 6 Months

• Job Description: This role involves designing and laying out complex, multi-layer PCBs (4–16+ layers) using Altium Designer end-to-end—from schematic capture through production release while collaborating with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure signal integrity, power integrity, thermal performance, and system-level fit.
• The designer performs component placement and routing for high-speed digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics designs, and defines board stackups, impedance-controlled traces, and via structures in coordination with fabricators.
• Responsibilities include creating and maintaining component libraries, generating complete manufacturing output packages (Gerbers, BOMs, assembly drawings), and conducting DRC/DFM reviews.
• The role requires 5+ years of PCB layout experience with expert-level Altium proficiency, strong knowledge of fabrication/assembly processes, and hands-on experience with high-speed digital design (DDR, USB, Ethernet) and power electronics layout.
• Candidates must understand EMC/EMI design principles and demonstrate strong attention to detail and commitment to design quality.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with flex/rigid-flex PCB design, signal/power integrity simulation tools, and PLM integration

Must Have:

Altium Designer (schematic capture, PCB layout, library management, and output generation) at least 3+ continuous years of experience with this tool)

• Required Qualifications 5+ years of professional PCB layout experience
• Expert-level proficiency in Altium Designer (schematic capture, PCB layout, library management, and output generation) at least 3+ continuous years of experience with this tool
• Strong understanding of PCB fabrication and assembly processes (SMT, through-hole, reflow, wave solder)
• Experience with high-speed digital design (DDR, USB, Ethernet, HDMI) including impedance matching and length tuning
• Experience with power electronics layout (DC-DC converters, motor drivers, battery management systems)
• Knowledge of EMC/EMI design principles and techniques for minimizing noise and interference
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to design quality
• Preferred Qualifications Experience with flex and rigid-flex PCB design
• Proficiency with signal integrity and power integrity simulation tools (e.g., Altium PDN Analyzer, HyperLynx, or Ansys SIwave)
• Experience with controlled-impedance and high-current PCB design
• Experience with version control and PLM integration (Altium 365, Vault, or similar)
