AutoCAD Designer / Drafter – Luxury Residential Interiors Contract | Remote | Immediate Opening

We are seeking to add an additional AutoCAD Designer / Drafter for a remote contract role supporting luxury residential interior projects to our Design team. This immediate opening is suited to a detail-oriented design professional who can turn project requirements into clear coordinated drawings. The role focuses on drafting and construction detail documentation.

AutoCAD drafting is the primary responsibility of this position. Accuracy and quick, reliable turnaround are paramount. We are looking for someone who can translate design concepts, sketches, and markups into clear, detailed construction drawings with minimal supervision. Your primary role will be focusing on floor plans, elevations, and cabinet design.

This is a remote, flexible opportunity for someone seeking ongoing, project-based work to supplement their current workload. The workload is typically a few hours per week and may increase or decrease depending on active projects and client demand.

Accuracy and Turnaround Expectations

Our projects move quickly, and this role requires both precision and efficiency. Candidates must be able to follow instructions closely, understand design intent, and deliver complete, accurate drawings without repeated corrections.

Standard CAD revisions are generally expected within 24–48 hours. Deadlines for larger drawing packages will be agreed upon based on scope. Candidates must be able to meet committed deadlines and communicate any questions or potential delays early.

Although hours are flexible, availability must support timely responses and reliable turnaround.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, detailed AutoCAD drawings and interior construction documents.
• Develop floor plans, interior elevations, reflected ceiling plans, and space-planning drawings.
• Produce detailed kitchen, bathroom, bar, closet, and custom cabinetry drawings, including elevations, sections, and construction details.
• Interpret architectural plans and translate design direction into coordinated, buildable drawings.
• Incorporate revisions from sketches, markups, and written instructions.
• Review all drawings before submission to verify dimensions, incorporate every requested revision, and ensure consistency across the drawing set.
• Maintain organized drawing files and current revisions.
• Communicate promptly and meet agreed-upon project deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, with the ability to draft accurately and efficiently and you must have AutoCAD installed on your personal computer.
• Experience preparing residential interior construction documents.
• Strong understanding of residential construction, interior architecture, and architectural detailing.
• Demonstrated experience producing detailed kitchen, bathroom, and custom cabinetry drawings.
• Ability to interpret architectural plans, sketches, dimensions, and design markups.
• Familiarity with interior finish materials, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and cabinetry.
• Excellent attention to detail and a consistent process for checking work before submission.
• Strong communication, organization, and file-management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage assigned tasks, and meet deadlines.
• A portfolio demonstrating relevant AutoCAD and construction-detailing experience.

Preferred Qualifications / Additional Support

The following skills are helpful for occasional project support, but the primary focus of this position is AutoCAD drafting:

• Experience working on luxury residential projects.
• Interior Design or Architecture education and/or relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency in SketchUp, Revit, and/or Chief Architect.
• Ability to create photorealistic renderings using Enscape, Lumion, V-Ray, Twinmotion, or similar software.
• Experience preparing FF&E packages and specifications.
• Experience sourcing and coordinating tile, wood, lighting, plumbing fixtures, textiles, and other interior finishes.
• Ability to prepare client presentation drawings and supporting materials.
