Project Manager – Technology & Business Change

Salary: Up to £80,000

Location: London (3 Days per week)

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a specialist insurance business, supporting the delivery of strategic technology, operational and business change initiatives.

This is a varied role combining project delivery, governance and change management, working closely with stakeholders across Technology, Finance, Underwriting, Claims and other business functions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are effectively planned, governed and delivered, translating business requirements into practical solutions while maintaining strong project controls and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Delivery & Governance

• Manage multiple concurrent projects and change initiatives using appropriate Waterfall or Agile methodologies.
• Maintain project plans, RAID logs, budgets, delivery milestones and supporting documentation.
• Produce clear project dashboards, reports and presentations for senior stakeholders, steering committees and governance forums.
• Monitor project expenditure against forecasts and support vendor management and procurement activities where required.

Business Change & Stakeholder Management

• Assess the impact of proposed changes on business processes, systems and user groups.
• Develop and coordinate change communications to support stakeholder engagement and adoption.
• Build strong relationships across technical teams and business functions, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and communicated.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), training materials and implementation activities to support successful project delivery.

Business & Technology Integration

• Work with stakeholders across Finance, Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial and other business functions to document existing processes and define future-state requirements.
• Translate business requirements into clear specifications to support system implementations, upgrades and process improvements.
• Ensure appropriate controls are maintained throughout project delivery, with operational risks identified and managed effectively.

Skills & Experience

Essential

• At least five years’ Project Management experience within an corporate or regulated environment.
• Experience within the insurance industry, particularly Lloyd’s or the London Market.
• Strong experience in project governance, planning, reporting, risk management and project documentation.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholders and deliver business change initiatives.
• Experience using project management tools such as MS Project, MS Planner, Jira, Smartsheet or Azure DevOps.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A structured approach to delivery, with the ability to maintain robust processes while working collaboratively with stakeholders.

Desirable

• Exposure to Finance systems change, systems implementations or operational transformation.
• Knowledge of change management methodologies such as Prosci or ADKAR.
• Experience with project budgets, vendor management and procurement processes.
• A recognised project management qualification, such as PRINCE2 or APMG.
