Job Description
• $60–$120 per hour equivalent, paid per accepted task
• 100% remote
• Part-time
• About 15 hours a week, you choose when
Work on the cutting edge of AI mathematics, on your own schedule, and get paid for the quantitative expertise you already have.
The AI systems everyone talks about are trained and tested by real mathematicians and quantitative experts. The teams building them need people who can create difficult mathematical problems, judge whether an AI’s solution is correct, write the rigorous solution and procedure an expert would provide, and explain where the reasoning or calculations fall short. Your judgment helps shape the next generation of AI models. This is that work, done remotely around your current job.
What you’ll do
• Create advanced mathematical tasks and translate their requirements into step-by-step procedures that can be run precisely
• Solve and review mathematical and computational problems, checking mathematical soundness and numerical correctness
• Implement mathematical workflows in Python and command-line tools, including numerical experiments and parameter sweeps
• Test special cases and validate results, visualizations and calculations for reproducibility
Why this is worth your time
• Get paid the equivalent of $60–$120 an hour to build real AI skills, on top of your current job
• Work directly with frontier AI tools and see how they are built, tested and improved, experience most mathematicians will not have for years
• Build a career edge for what comes next: AI is reshaping mathematical and quantitative work, and the people who understand it from the inside will lead that change
• Fully remote, fully flexible, no minimum shift, no commute
Who this is for
• Fluent in English
• Hold an MS or PhD in one of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computational Science or Theoretical Computer Science. Alternatively, hold a BS in Mathematics or in a closely related quantitative field, together with 1 to 2 years of professional or research experience focused on mathematics
• Strong expertise in one or more areas, including numerical analysis, optimization, probability, statistics, discrete mathematics or mathematical modeling, plus practical Python experience and familiarity with scientific computing tools
• No AI experience needed. You bring the expertise; we bring the training on the tools.
Pay and details
• $60–$120 per hour equivalent; pay is per accepted task, as an independent contractor
• About 15 hours a week, you choose when; fully remote, United States
