Lead - IT Infrastructure

Position Overview

The IT Systems Lead is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organizations IT infrastructure. This role oversees system performance, ensures high availability, implements security best practices, and leads the IT team in delivering reliable and scalable solutions across all Windows and Linux environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and administer Windows and Linux servers
• Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network systems.
• Should have experience in VMware environment.
• Should be very good in RAID configuration and Volumes setups.
• Should have very strong experience on Nginx, Apache, Postfix, iptables, firewalld and SSH.
• Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and system optimization.
• Manage virtualization environments (VMware, KVM, Proxmox).
• Design, implement, and manage LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
• Ensure network reliability, performance optimization, and minimal downtime.
• Monitor network traffic, analyze performance, and troubleshoot issues proactively.
• Manage network security, including firewall policies, intrusion detection/prevention, access control, and vulnerability mitigation.
• Should have experiences on Cisco Routers and L3 Switching.
• Implement and maintain IT security policies, access controls, and data protection plans.
• Monitor system logs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure minimal downtime.
• Handle backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
• Lead IT engineers/admins and provide technical support & mentorship.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for deployment of applications and services.
• Manage IT documentation, asset management, and change management processes.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve infrastructure reliability.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security and regulatory standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT Infrastructure and Linux system administration.
• Strong expertise in Linux OS, shell scripting, and automation (Bash, Python, Ansible).
• Experience with networking (DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, firewalls).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure – optional but preferred).
• Experience in DevOps tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins (added advantage).
• Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills.
• Familiarity with database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
