Frontend Developer

Brooksource is hiring a Frontend Engineer to join our Fortune 500 financial services client’s Product Engineering team. The team is modernizing its front-end applications, moving from React apps served through Node/Express to static Vite builds that source data from a federated GraphQL graph. You will drive that migration while continuing to ship features, keep existing applications healthy, and raise test coverage. The team expects engineers to lean on AI coding tools for day-to-day work and to push that tooling forward.

Required Qualifications

• Strong React and TypeScript/JavaScript, with recent production front-end work
• Node.js experience, including Express-based apps
• Playwright or comparable e2e testing experience, plus solid unit-testing habits
• Familiarity with Apollo GraphQL and consuming federated graphs
• Experience building against a design system
• Hands-on with AI coding tools and an AI-assisted development workflow
• Application monitoring experience, ideally Dynatrace

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS and Kubernetes
• Vite migration or build-tooling modernization experience
• Financial services or other regulated-industry background

Day to Day Responsibilities

• Migrate React applications from Node/Express-served builds to static Vite builds consuming the federated graph through Apollo GraphQL
• Add new functionality and features to existing client-facing applications
• Own care and maintenance: dependency updates, security patches, and production support
• Increase unit and end-to-end test coverage, with Playwright as the e2e framework of choice
• Instrument and monitor applications with Dynatrace
• Use AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot or similar) across the full workflow and help the team adopt new tooling and practices
