Building Safety Manager

Develop Your Building Safety Career Within a Leading Residential Portfolio

Are you a Fire Risk Assessor, Fire Safety Manager, Fire Safety Inspecting Officer, or compliance professional looking to build a long-term career in Building Safety?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established Building Safety team responsible for a significant portfolio of high-rise and higher-risk residential buildings. We are particularly interested in candidates who have recently completed the CIOB Level 6 Diploma in Building Safety Management, are currently studying towards it, or hold a Level 3 or higher Fire Risk Assessment qualification and are looking to gain practical experience within a dedicated Building Safety function.

Working alongside experienced Building Safety professionals, you’ll gain exposure to a wide range of safety, compliance and regulatory responsibilities while helping to ensure residents remain safe in their homes. This role offers an outstanding platform for professionals looking to transition from fire safety into building safety, or for those already working in the sector who are seeking broader exposure and long-term career progression.

The Role

As a Building Safety Manager, you will support the delivery of building safety compliance across a large and varied portfolio of residential buildings. You will work closely with surveyors, contractors, property teams and residents, contributing to the successful implementation of building safety requirements and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the management of building safety compliance across a portfolio of high-rise and higher-risk residential buildings.
  • Undertake and review fire risk assessments, inspections and building safety audits.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Building Safety Cases and Golden Thread information.
  • Monitor compliance with relevant fire safety and building safety legislation.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, consultants and contractors to ensure compliance obligations are met.
  • Support resident engagement initiatives and help promote a positive building safety culture.
  • Monitor and track actions arising from fire risk assessments, audits and inspections.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across the Building Safety service.

About You

To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • Experience within Fire Safety, Building Safety, Compliance, Housing, Property Management or a related discipline.
  • CIOB Level 6 Diploma in Building Safety Management (completed or in progress), or a similar Building Safety qualification.
  • Level 3 or above Fire Risk Assessment qualification.
  • A sound understanding of current fire safety legislation and a desire to further develop your knowledge of building safety.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach and genuine enthusiasm for developing a career within Building Safety.

Why Apply?

This is more than just a compliance role. It’s an opportunity to establish yourself within a growing and highly important profession while benefiting from the support of an experienced and collaborative team.

Benefits Include:

  • Hybrid working arrangements.
  • Flexible start and finish times to support work-life balance.
  • Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Reimbursement of work-related travel expenses undertaken within the borough.
  • Dedicated training and development bursary to support professional qualifications, memberships and continuing professional development.
  • Exposure to a large portfolio of complex high-rise and higher-risk residential buildings.
  • Supportive and experienced Building Safety team environment.
  • Clear progression pathways into Senior Building Safety Manager and wider leadership roles.
  • Opportunities to broaden your experience across fire safety, compliance, resident engagement, asset management and property services.
  • The chance to make a genuine impact on resident safety and organisational compliance.

Career Progression

This position is ideally suited to professionals who have recently invested in Building Safety training and are looking for the practical experience needed to accelerate their careers. The successful candidate will gain unrivalled exposure to modern Building Safety practices, legislation and regulatory requirements while working alongside industry professionals in a highly respected team.
