This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking practical, hands-on experience in contract review, redlining, and negotiation within a university research and industry-partnership environment.
The role is well suited to a law student (2L or similar), a paralegal or candidate with paralegal training, a recent graduate interested in contracts or transactional work, or anyone eager to develop foundational skills in reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements.

- Identify and redline provisions that deviate from Stanford’s standard terms
- Draft correspondence to internal stakeholders and external partners regarding agreement status, requested changes, and outstanding issues
- Track agreements through internal workflows, including approvals, signatures, and renewals
- Support the negotiation of routine terms under the guidance of ICO contracts officers

- Escalate complex or nonstandard issues to senior ICO staff as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and written communication skills
- Interest in contracts, transactional law, or research administration
- Ability to work independently on routine matters while recognizing when to ask questions or escalate an issue
- Comfort learning and following established templates, policies, and workflows
