Senior Motion Graphics Designer / Animator (Contract)

Are you a visual storyteller who thinks in motion? Can you take complex ideas and bring them to life as clear, engaging animation? Do you enjoy collaborating in a creative environment?

Collective Next is looking for a talented senior motion graphics designer to support our creative team in delivering outstanding work for our corporate clients. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in animation, design, and typography—illustration and UI/UX experience is a big plus. You’ll work collaboratively with our Art Directors, supporting motion projects that range from storyboards and style frames to fully animated explainer videos and learning content.

This is a remote contract position open to people residing and working in the US.

Core Requirements:

• After Effects expertise. Strong command of animation principles, timing, and easing
• Adobe Creative Cloud subscription and availability for meetings with Art Directors during regular east coast business hours
• Ability to turn storyboards and Art Director feedback into polished, on-brand animation
• Working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro (or comparable) for asset prep, editing, and delivery
• Strong organization and file management, delivering to spec

AI Workflow Experience:

• Hands-on experience with generative AI for image and video (e.g., Firefly, Gemini/Nano Banana, Veo, Kling, etc.).
• Skill directing AI with effective prompts
• Judgment on when AI helps, plus the ability to clean up, composite, and finish AI assets so they’re on-brand

For consideration, please supply the following:

• Resume
• Portfolio or reel
• For any AI-assisted projects, briefly describe your process: what the tools did, what you did, and how you finished it.
