W2 Contract : Oracle APEX Developer

Location: Remote (Candidate must reside within a 2-hour radius of Harrisburg, PA)

Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Oracle APEX Developer to modernize legacy Oracle Forms applications and migrate them to Oracle APEX using Oracle Database 19c. The ideal candidate will have strong Oracle PL/SQL development skills, database expertise, and experience developing secure, high-performance applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Modernize and migrate legacy Oracle Forms applications to Oracle APEX.
• Develop and maintain PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages, and complex SQL queries.
• Design and enhance APEX user interfaces and application functionality.
• Analyze database structures, data models, and existing application integrations.
• Integrate web services and implement application security and authorization.
• Perform SQL debugging, performance tuning, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Prepare technical and functional documentation.
• Participate in requirements gathering, development, deployment, and production support.
• Collaborate with technical teams and provide knowledge transfer.
• Support release management and provide regular project status updates.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of Oracle PL/SQL development experience.
• Minimum 5 years of Oracle APEX application development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, preferably Oracle 19c.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Developer and/or TOAD.
• Understanding of data modeling principles.
• Experience integrating web services.
• Experience with SQL performance tuning, debugging, and testing in Oracle and SQL Server.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience modernizing legacy Oracle Forms applications.
• Experience with XML, HTML, Java, PL/SQL APIs, and SOA architecture.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience supporting regulatory or mission-critical applications.
• Prior government or environmental systems experience.
• Ability to prepare clear technical and functional documentation.
