Our client, a leading technology services organization, is seeking a Data Center Network Consulting Engineer (NCE) with deep expertise in Cisco Nexus platforms and NX-OS environments to join their team. As a Data Center Network Consulting Engineer (NCE), you will be part of the Network Infrastructure team supporting enterprise data center operations, modernization initiatives, automation efforts, and network transformation projects. This role will initially focus on supporting standalone data center environments utilizing traditional three-tier architectures, while playing a key role in future migrations to VXLAN fabric environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus technologies, practical network automation expertise using Ansible and Python, a proactive leadership mindset, and excellent communication skills. Experience with Cisco ACI, customer-facing consulting engagements, and network testing tools is a plus.

• Serve as a subject matter expert for Cisco Nexus platforms (5K, 6K, 7K, and 9K) running NX-OS in enterprise data center environments.

• Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize Nexus switching infrastructure to ensure high availability and operational excellence.

• Manage and support standalone data center environments utilizing traditional three-tier architectures.

• Participate in data center modernization initiatives and migration projects from traditional architectures to VXLAN fabric environments.

• Design, review, and support solutions involving VXLAN, unicast and multicast routing, redundancy design, and high-availability networking.

• Develop and implement network automation solutions utilizing Ansible, Python, GitHub, and Jenkins Pipeline.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and share expertise related to network automation, operational improvements, and infrastructure transformation.

• Provide technical leadership, drive initiatives independently, and contribute to architectural decisions with minimal supervision.

• Support customer-facing engagements and consulting activities when needed.

What’s Needed?

• Strong hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting Cisco Nexus platforms (5K, 6K, 7K, and 9K) running NX-OS.

• Expert-level knowledge of NX-OS configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and operational best practices.

• Strong understanding of data center technologies, including:

o VXLAN

o Unicast and multicast routing

o Redundancy and high-availability designs

o Traditional three-tier data center architectures

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale data center networking environments.

• Practical, project-based automation experience using Ansible and Python (beyond training or certification coursework).

• Experience with GitHub and familiarity with Jenkins Pipeline.

• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and work independently with minimal oversight.

• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with Cisco ACI, Spirent, Ixia, or other network testing tools is a plus.

• Previous consulting or customer-facing experience is highly desirable.
