Software engineer Intern

Job Summary

Join our team as a Software Engineer Intern and contribute to practical software development projects alongside experienced engineers. You’ll help build and improve web applications, explore modern tools, and strengthen your software engineering skills through hands-on work. This is a paid internship. Applicants should bring foundational programming knowledge and curiosity; experience with every listed technology is not required.

Duties

• Contribute to application development and web development, including front-end development and JavaScript frameworks such as React or Express.
• Help design and build REST (Representational State Transfer) and RESTful APIs (application programming interfaces), using sound software design, design patterns, and system design principles.
• Support scalable systems and microservices, and learn how cloud infrastructure, IT infrastructure, and platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure support applications.
• Collaborate in Agile software development, use version control tools such as Git, GitHub, or Subversion (SVN), and assist with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of software engineering, programming languages, and software development; familiarity with SQL (Structured Query Language) and MySQL is helpful.
• Experience or coursework in JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, C, C++, Ruby on Rails,.NET, or Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is welcome; no single language is required.
• Familiarity with Linux, Agile practices, APIs, scalability, or role-based access control (RBAC) is a plus.
• Interest in learning cloud infrastructure, system design, and quantum engineering is welcome; these are not prerequisites.

Pay: $1.00 - $2.00 per hour

Work Location: Remote
