Job Description
AI Knowledge Specialist (Contract, Remote, US)
About Hermetic AI
Hermetic AI is a hospitality AI startup. Our AI agent, Mia, answers inbound private-event inquiries for restaurants and other hospitality venues that move guests toward a booking. Mia is only as accurate as the venue knowledge behind her, and that is where you come in.
The role
We have lots of venue-specific custom instructions that shape what Mia tells guests. Our AI triage system has already flagged the ones that likely require edits. You will review those flagged instructions, check them against venue source materials, correct them in our standard template, and escalate anything you cannot confirm. Your work directly decides whether a guest receives the correct information.
What you will do
- Triage AI-flagged custom instructions, and customer feedback. Confirm whether each flag is a real issue or a false alarm.
- Verify facts against venue source materials: menus, event packets, pricing sheets, capacity charts and policies.
- Correct errors in pricing, minimums, deposits, capacities, room names, menus, hours and policies.
- Resolve instructions that contradict each other or the venue’s materials.
- Rewrite unclear, wordy or off-tone instructions into our standard template, in plain, structured English.
- Escalate missing or unverifiable information to the account team instead of guessing.
- Log each change and its reason, and note recurring error patterns so we can fix them upstream.
What you bring
- Excellent written English, with a strong eye for grammar, clarity and tone.
- Obsessive attention to detail. You notice when a number, date or room name doesn’t line up.
- Sound judgment about what you can fix yourself versus what needs a second opinion.
- Comfort working in spreadsheets and web-based admin tools.
- Ability to work independently and hit weekly throughput targets.
- Based in the US and authorized to work as an independent contractor.
Nice to have
- Experience as an events, sales or catering coordinator at a restaurant, hotel or venue. You know what a food and beverage minimum, buyout, service charge and deposit mean in practice.
- Experience with technical formatting (e.g. XML or Markdown)
- Background in copy editing, technical writing, content QA or AI training and evaluation.
- Experience with knowledge bases or support content for chatbots or AI agents.
Engagement and pay
- 1099 contract, fully remote, flexible hours within US business days.
- 20 to 30 hours per week for an initial 8 to 12 week project, with the potential for ongoing part-time work of 5 to 10 hours per week.
- $30 to $45 per hour, based on experience. Strong hospitality events experience may qualify for up to $55 per hour.
- A paid skills test (about 2 hours, paid at a flat $75) is part of the process.
