Job Description
Job Overview
As a Technical Consultant - Power Platform and AI, you’ll turn business needs into secure, practical technology solutions. You will build Power Platform solutions and AI-powered capabilities for our clients. That includes apps and automations, Copilot Studio agents, and integrations that pull AI into everyday business processes. AI-assisted development is part of how we work: you will use tools like Claude Code and Codex daily to build faster, and you will be accountable for the quality of what they produce. You will work alongside senior consultants and architects, with a clear growth path into senior technical roles.
Location and Work Arrangement
This is a contract-to-hire position, starting with a six-month contract. Contractors who are a strong fit are converted to full-time employment at the end of the contract period. The role is fully remote. Candidates must live in the U.S. in the Pacific or Mountain time zone to support client meetings and team collaboration during Pacific business hours.
Responsibilities
- Build Power Apps (canvas and model-driven), Power Automate flows, and Dataverse data models for production business use
- Build Copilot Studio agents and extend Microsoft 365 Copilot with actions, connectors, and knowledge sources grounded in client data
- Integrate AI into business workflows using AI Builder, Azure OpenAI, or Azure AI Foundry, such as extracting and validating data from documents
- Use AI coding tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or similar) as part of your daily workflow, and review, test, and secure the output before it ships
- Integrate solutions with SharePoint, Microsoft Graph, REST APIs, custom connectors, and line-of-business systems such as ERP and project management platforms
- Work with clients and consultants to understand the business problem, clarify requirements, and recommend the right approach
- Follow Axcend standards for environments, ALM, security, and data loss prevention
- Troubleshoot and support solutions after go-live
- Document your work and contribute reusable components the team can use on future projects
Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on experience building Power Apps and Power Automate solutions used by real business users
- Working knowledge of Dataverse, data modeling, and SQL
- Experience with REST APIs and custom connectors, and familiarity with the Microsoft Graph API
- Working knowledge of SharePoint, including lists, libraries, and permissions
- Regular, hands-on use of at least one AI-assisted development tool, with an example you can walk us through (personal or side projects count)
- Clear written and verbal communication, including explaining technical choices to non-technical people
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Copilot Studio agents and/or Azure OpenAI solutions deployed to business users
- Power Platform ALM experience (solutions, pipelines, Azure DevOps or GitHub)
- Power BI or Microsoft Fabric
- SPFx development, PowerShell, or Azure Functions and Logic Apps
- Custom application development in C# and .NET, or a modern JavaScript framework such as React or Angular
- Building on Azure, including App Service, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, or Azure SQL
- Designing and building REST APIs, including securing them with Entra ID
- JavaScript or C# for PCF components or custom extensions
- Power BI or Microsoft Fabric
- Consulting or professional services experience
- Experience in or serving the construction or field-services industries
- Microsoft certifications such as PL-400
What We’re Looking For
- You learn fast and stay current. AI and Power Platform change monthly, and you keep up because you’re curious, not because you’re told to.
- You solve the real problem. You ask why before you build, and you’ll suggest a better approach when the request isn’t the right answer.
- You use AI with judgment. You know where it speeds you up and where it needs a second look.
- You work independently and communicate proactively. You work well on a remote team, flag blockers early, and manage time across more than one project.
- You want to grow. You’re interested in consulting and in building toward a senior technical role.
