Role Description Power BI Developer The Role UST is searching for a Power BI Developer with experience in the healthcare domain to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that drive data-informed decision-making across clinical, operational, and business teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare data (claims, eligibility, enrollment, etc.), hands-on expertise with Power BI, and the ability to work with stakeholders to translate business needs into insightful visualizations. Experience working with HIPAA-compliant data environments is highly desirable.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain visually compelling Power BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
• Translate business requirements into data models and meaningful metrics.
• Connect to multiple data sources (SQL Server, Excel, cloud services, etc.) and build data models using Power Query and DAX.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and subject matter experts in the healthcare domain.
• Ensure reports adhere to performance, usability, and accessibility best practices.
• Validate and reconcile data across systems, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
• Document report logic, data definitions, and visual elements for knowledge sharing and compliance.
• Work within healthcare regulatory requirements such as HIPAA to manage sensitive data responsibly.

What You Need

• 6 - 10 years of experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI.
• Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modelling techniques.
• Solid understanding of healthcare data, such as claims, eligibility, member/provider data, or clinical data.
• Experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Azure SQL) and writing T-SQL.
• Familiarity with healthcare compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, PHI).
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with EDI X12 (e.g., 837, 835, 270/271) or FHIR/HL7 healthcare data formats. Exposure to Azure Data Platform (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Power BI Service).
• Background in working with large datasets and optimizing performance in Power BI.
• Familiarity with Agile development and tools like Jira, DevOps Boards, or Confluence.
• Microsoft certification in Power BI (e.g., PL-300 or DA-100) is a plus.

Location & Compensation Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Remote-US Compensation Range: $62,000-$93,000
