Residential Sales and Project Manager

Position Summary

The Residential Sales & Project Manager is responsible for generating revenue through in-home sales consultations while overseeing the successful execution of painting and finishing projects. This position serves as the primary point of contact for homeowners throughout the sales and project lifecycle, ensuring a seamless customer experience and exceptional project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to leads and schedule in-home consultations.
• Meet with homeowners to evaluate project needs and provide expert recommendations.
• Prepare accurate and professional estimates using company pricing systems.
• Present proposals and close sales while maintaining target gross profit margins.
• Follow up on outstanding estimates and nurture prospective clients.
• Build strong customer relationships that generate referrals and repeat business.
• Maintain accurate records of sales activities within company CRM systems.

Project Management Responsibilities

• Conduct project handoff meetings and job site walkthroughs.
• Coordinate project schedules with production teams and customers.
• Order materials and ensure projects are ready for execution.
• Communicate project expectations, schedules, and updates to customers.
• Monitor project progress to ensure quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Address customer concerns and resolve issues quickly and professionally.
• Perform final walkthroughs and collect project feedback.
• Ensure projects are completed according to company standards and customer expectations.

Leadership & Team Collaboration

• Work closely with painters, crew leaders, subcontractors, and office staff.
• Support a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Uphold Whitlock Painting’s purpose, core values, and professional standards at all times.
• Contribute ideas that improve systems, customer experience, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Required

• 3+ years of experience in residential sales, project management, construction, painting, home improvement, or a related field.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proven ability to build rapport and close sales.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with CRM software, Microsoft Office, and estimating tools.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred

• Experience in residential painting, coatings, remodeling, or construction.
• Experience estimating residential projects.
• Knowledge of surface preparation, painting systems, and finishing techniques.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
