Freelance Social Media Assistant – Scheduling, Trends & Content Ideas

Location: Southampton / flexible
Hours: Approximately 6 hours per week (around 24 hours per month)

05 Agency is looking for an organised, creative freelance assistant to help plan and publish content for our clients and on our own social media channels.

You’ll schedule approved content, keep calendars up to date and make sure posts are ready to go out on time. You’ll also keep an eye on relevant social media trends and bring forward fresh ideas that could work for our clients and our own channels. Hours may vary a little around campaigns and busy periods.

What you’ll do

• Schedule posts, Reels and Stories across relevant social platforms.
• Keep content calendars organised and flag gaps or upcoming deadlines.
• Check captions, tags, links and formats before scheduling.
• Monitor relevant trends, formats, sounds and local activity.
• Bring forward and present new content ideas for discussion.
• Organise approved photos, videos and other content assets.
• Help prepare a simple monthly update on content published and account activity.
• Flag customer messages or comments that need a response from the team.

What we’re looking for

• Good organisation, creativity and attention to detail.
• Experience scheduling content for Instagram and Facebook; TikTok experience is useful.
• Confidence using social media planning tools. GoHighLevel or Meta Business Suite experience is a bonus.
• A good feel for social media trends and how to adapt them appropriately for different brands.
• Clear communication and the confidence to present ideas.
• Hospitality or agency experience would be helpful.

We’ll provide overall content direction and approvals. This role focuses on scheduling, day-to-day social media admin, trend monitoring and suggesting ideas; filming isn’t required.
