Job Description
Company description: Ruder Finn is one of the world’s largest independent global communications agencies, with more than 75 years of experience helping organisations and brands tell their stories and connect with the audiences that matter.
Our UK Healthcare team brings together specialists across healthcare communications, digital and social strategy, creative, corporate communications and employee engagement. We work with some of the world’s leading pharmaceutical and healthcare companies, delivering integrated campaigns that combine deep sector expertise with creative thinking and digital innovation.
We’re a collaborative, ambitious and growing team, offering the opportunity to work on exciting global accounts, take ownership of meaningful projects and help shape the future of healthcare communications.
Role description: We’re looking for an experienced Senior Account Manager to join our growing digital team, supporting the planning and delivery of social media programmes across our healthcare and pharmaceutical clients.
The role will combine social media expertise with strong editorial planning, project, and stakeholder management skills. You’ll work closely with clients, internal teams and agency partners to coordinate social activity, manage content calendars and help ensure programmes move smoothly from planning through approval and publication.
We’re looking for someone who is highly organised, confident working across complex accounts and comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy, proactively identifying what needs to happen next and driving activity forward.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain social media editorial calendars across client accounts, coordinating multiple priorities, campaigns and content streams.
- Work closely with clients and stakeholders to capture upcoming milestones, campaigns, awareness moments and content requirements.
- Translate client priorities into clear, coordinated social plans, recommending appropriate timing, sequencing, channel use and publishing cadence.
- Identify gaps, clashes and opportunities across content calendars and recommend adjustments.
- Track content through development and approval, maintaining clear visibility of status, dependencies and upcoming deadlines.
- Lead and support regular editorial planning and status meetings, keeping clients and internal teams aligned on priorities and next steps.
- Coordinate with publishing teams to ensure approved content is accurately scheduled and published across social channels.
- Work collaboratively with creative, strategy, paid media, account and other specialist teams to deliver integrated social programmes.
- Support compliant social workflows and ensure content follows agreed review and approval processes.
- Help develop and continuously improve social ways of working, governance, templates and processes.
- Build trusted client relationships and confidently manage multiple stakeholders, priorities and requests.
What we’re looking for:
- 4+ years’ experience in social media, digital communications or integrated communications, either agency-side or in-house.
- Pharmaceutical or healthcare experience is essential, with a good understanding of working within regulated communications environments.
- Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder social media programmes and content calendars.
- Strong understanding of major social platforms, social best practice and how content and publishing requirements differ by channel.
- Experience coordinating content from planning through development, approval and publication.
- Familiarity with MLR/compliance review processes and regulated content approval workflows.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, workstreams and deadlines simultaneously.
- Confident stakeholder management skills and the ability to bring structure and clarity to competing requests.
- Strong attention to detail across copy, creative assets, links, tagging, approvals and publishing requirements.
- Experience with social publishing and management platforms such as Sprinklr or Hootsuite is a plus.
Salary: £45,000–£50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
