Job Description
• $30–$100 per hour equivalent, paid per accepted task
• 100% remote
• Part-time
• About 15 hours a week, you choose when
Work on the cutting edge of AI coding tools, on your own schedule, and get paid for the backend engineering skills you already have.
The AI coding systems changing how software gets built are trained and tested by real backend engineers. The teams building them need backend engineers who can create realistic programming tasks, judge whether the AI’s code meets the requirements, write the solution a professional would deliver, and explain exactly where the code falls short. Your judgment helps shape the next generation of AI coding systems. This is that work, done remotely around your current job.
What you’ll do
• Create realistic backend programming tasks covering feature development and bug fixes
• Build reliable automated checks that distinguish valid code from code that fails the requirements
• Review generated backend code for correctness and performance
• Use secure coding methods and perform security reviews for tasks where those practices matter
Why this is worth your time
• Build practical AI skills alongside your current job while earning $30–$100 an hour
• Gain hands-on time with frontier AI coding tools and see how teams build, test and improve them, experience most backend engineers will not have for years
• Build a career edge for what comes next: AI is reshaping software engineering, and the engineers who understand it from the inside will lead that change
• Fully remote, fully flexible, no minimum shift, no commute
Who this is for
• Strong experience developing backend systems using Python, Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, TypeScript, C++ or a similar language
• Experience building scalable services and APIs, including troubleshooting service bottlenecks, delivering complex features, and conducting code reviews
• Professional fluency in English, together with strong analytical ability and skills in problem-solving and technical communication
• No AI experience needed. You bring the expertise; we bring the training on the tools.
Pay and details
• $30–$100 per hour equivalent; pay is per accepted task, as an independent contractor
• About 15 hours a week, you choose when; fully remote, United States
