The teams building them need legal citation specialists who can create realistic cite-checking tasks, judge whether the AI applies citation rules correctly, write the corrected citation a legal professional would give, and explain exactly where the AI falls short. Your judgment helps shape the next generation of AI models for legal work. This is that work, done remotely around your current studies or career.
What you’ll do
• Check the grading guidance for Bluebook citations and pincites, and flag unclear or incomplete instructions
• Identify citation edge cases and recommend how unusual cases should be handled
• Create cite-checking tasks using legal sources, flawed citations and corrections
• Make citation corrections using the same Bluebook standards, and spell out why each change is needed

• Currently enrolled in law school or hold a JD
• Cite-checking or source-collection experience on a law review or law journal
• English proficiency and strong command of The Bluebook’s pincites, short forms, signals and parentheticals
• No AI experience needed. You bring the expertise; we bring the training on the tools.

• $50–$80 per hour, paid hourly as an independent contractor
