Job Description
• $50–$70 per hour
• 100% remote
• Part-time
• Under 20 hours a week, you choose when
Work on the cutting edge of clinical AI, on your own schedule, and get paid for the coding expertise you already have.
The AI systems changing healthcare are trained and tested by real medical coding experts. The teams building them need medical coders who can create realistic, difficult coding tasks, judge AI-generated notes and coding decisions against actual records, write the answer an experienced coder would give, and explain exactly where the AI falls short. Your judgment helps shape the next generation of clinical AI models. This is that work, done remotely around your current job.
What you’ll do
• Review inpatient charts, apply the appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes, and check the supporting documentation
• Assess AI-generated clinical notes and summaries against real patient records for accuracy
• Find and fix mismatches between diagnoses and procedure codes
• Record AI-generated patient details in computerized systems used for inpatient and outpatient records
Why this is worth your time
• Get paid $50–$70 an hour to build real AI skills, on top of your current job
• Work directly with frontier clinical AI tools and see how they are built, tested and improved, experience most medical coders will not have for years
• Build a career edge for what comes next: AI is reshaping medical coding and clinical documentation improvement, and the people who understand it from the inside will lead that change
• Fully remote, fully flexible, no minimum shift, no commute
Who this is for
• An active coding credential from the following list: CCS, CIC, COC, RHIA or RHIT; comparable AHIMA or AAPC certification is also accepted
• Your current role is medical coding or clinical documentation improvement, and you have practical experience applying ICD-10 to inpatient charts
• Fluent in English; you have the latest official coding books for ICD-10 and CPT, plus E&M guidelines
• No AI experience needed. You bring the expertise; we bring the training on the tools.
Pay and details
• $50–$70 per hour, paid hourly as an independent contractor
• Under 20 hours a week, you choose when; fully remote, United States
