About The Role Sanderson is looking for a highly skilled Senior SQL Server Developer to take ownership of large-scale SQL Server environments, improve database performance, modernize legacy systems, and develop reliable data pipelines across data warehouses and cloud-based platforms.

In this senior technical position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing database solutions that support critical business operations and data-driven decision-making. You will work extensively with Transact-SQL (T-SQL), performance tuning, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration technologies to ensure that data is accurate, accessible, secure, and efficiently processed.

The successful candidate will collaborate with data engineers, architects, analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions. You will also contribute to data governance, database standards, documentation, and development best practices, helping the organization establish a robust and sustainable data platform.

Key Responsibilities

• SQL Server Development: Design, develop, maintain, and enhance SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, functions, and other database objects to support business and application requirements.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze and improve database performance through query tuning, execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, statistics management, and resource optimization.
• Database Environment Management: Take ownership of large SQL Server environments, identify operational challenges, resolve performance bottlenecks, and maintain database reliability.
• Legacy System Modernization: Assess existing database architectures and legacy applications, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement modernization strategies that improve scalability, maintainability, and efficiency.
• Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, validate, and load data from multiple sources into data warehouses and cloud platforms.
• Data Warehousing: Develop and optimize data warehouse structures, data models, transformation processes, and reporting datasets to support analytics and business intelligence requirements.
• Cloud Data Solutions: Contribute to the integration and development of cloud-based data solutions, ensuring effective data movement and interoperability between on-premises and cloud environments.
• Data Quality and Integrity: Implement validation processes, error handling, reconciliation mechanisms, and monitoring procedures to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, architects, and engineering teams to gather requirements, define technical approaches, and deliver effective solutions.
