Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software products using C# and .NET.
• Build new applications and features, contributing to greenfield development projects from the initial design stage through to release.
• Improve existing systems by enhancing functionality, maintainability, and performance where required.
• Participate in technical discussions and help determine suitable architectures, frameworks, tools, and development approaches.
• Collaborate with colleagues and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Provide technical advice to the wider business, explaining what can be achieved, potential limitations, and realistic delivery timescales.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and development practices with the team, recommending options that offer genuine value.

Required Skills And Experience C# and .NET Development Candidates should have strong commercial experience developing software with C# and the .NET ecosystem. You should be comfortable building production-ready applications, writing maintainable code, and contributing to technical decisions that affect the long-term quality of a product.

Microsoft Azure Practical commercial experience with Microsoft Azure is essential. You should understand how cloud technologies support application development and be able to contribute to solutions built and operated within the Azure environment.

Software Design and Development The position requires experience contributing to the development of new software, rather than focusing exclusively on maintaining existing applications. You should be able to participate in design discussions, assess alternative approaches, and help deliver solutions that meet business and technical requirements.

Communication and Collaboration As the role involves advising the wider business, clear communication is important. You should be able to explain technical concepts in an accessible way, discuss feasibility, and provide realistic estimates for development work. The ability to collaborate with different stakeholders will help ensure that technical decisions support business objectives.
