About The Role We are seeking experienced .NET Developers to join our team remotely, supporting a significant modernization initiative. This role focuses on replacing legacy mainframe applications with modern, scalable .NET-based services and APIs. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing backend services, enterprise integrations, and event-driven applications that enhance our client’s technological infrastructure. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale projects that impact core business operations, requiring a blend of technical expertise, innovative thinking, and collaborative spirit. This is a contract-to-hire role, with the potential to transition into a full-time employee following the successful completion of the contract period.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with .NET and C# development.
• Proficiency in developing REST APIs and backend services.
• Solid understanding of enterprise application development and architecture.
• Experience working with integrations across multiple systems and third-party platforms.
• Proven ability to develop and support production-grade applications.
• Ability to analyze existing legacy code and translate it into modern solutions.
• Mid-level to senior development experience.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures, Kafka, messaging systems, and event sourcing is preferred.
• Experience with finance or payroll-related applications, including integrations with platforms such as Salesforce, Concur, or OneStream, is advantageous.
• Interest in AI and large language models (LLM) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or within a team.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using modern .NET technologies.
• Contribute to the replacement of legacy mainframe applications by building scalable, reliable services.
• Review existing mainframe code to understand business logic and inform the development of new solutions.
• Create event-driven services, including consumers and publishers, to support real-time data processing.
• Develop and support integrations with enterprise and third-party applications, ensuring seamless data flow.
• Assist in the development of finance-related services, APIs, payroll workflows, and data integrations.
• Adhere to shared enterprise repositories and established development standards to ensure consistency and quality.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to modernize critical enterprise applications, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain high-quality standards.
