Graphic Design & Production Assistant

We’re looking for a detail-oriented person with graphic design fundamentals and strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud to help with day-to-day print and digital marketing work. You’ll work closely with an experienced team that provides creative direction, feedback, and guidance.

You’ll handle a variety of ongoing design, production, and related marketing support assignments, updating existing materials, adapting graphics, and preparing work for review and delivery. You’ll work within established brand standards, using existing layouts and templates where appropriate, with opportunities to develop new layouts and graphics under creative direction. Assignments will evolve with client needs and team priorities, with direction and training as needed.

What you’ll do

• Create and update a variety of print and digital marketing materials using existing source files, templates, brand standards, and creative direction.
• Edit images and adapt graphics for social media, emails, digital ads, and events using supplied content and established brand standards.
• Prepare and schedule approved social posts using supplied copy and the team’s existing content calendar.
• Incorporate review comments, proof your work, and prepare accurate print-ready files and digital exports, checking bleeds, image resolution, fonts, and linked assets.
• Make minor website updates, such as replacing PDFs, images, and text. Training will be provided.
• Gather standard marketing reports, check reporting dates and completeness, and format them for team review.
• Keep editable files, linked assets, revisions, and approved materials organized.
• Carry assignments through revisions, approval, and final delivery, communicating progress and flagging missing information or deadline concerns.

What we’re looking for

• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud for print and digital production, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, plus working familiarity with Acrobat. Experience should include multipage layouts, image editing, and vector artwork, along with styles, linked assets, preflight checks, and print-ready PDF exports.
• Comfort handling a mix of routine updates and new production requests, following established standards and asking for direction when needed.
• A good foundation in layout, typography, and visual consistency, with an interest in developing your design skills.
• Careful attention to written instructions, proof corrections, and small details.
• Strong organization, clear communication, and dependable follow-through, including the ability to manage several assignments and changing priorities.
• Willingness to ask questions, take feedback, and develop new skills.

WordPress experience is helpful but not required. We’ll provide guidance as you learn our standards and workflow.

Position details

Part-time, remote position; candidates must live in the northern Illinois area encompassing Rockford, DeKalb/Sycamore, the northern and western Chicago suburbs, and nearby communities.

Company computer and software provided.

As part of a small team, you’ll help with a variety of assignments. Responsibilities may change as client needs and team priorities evolve.

Pay: $25.00 per hour.
