Work you’ll do

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer Contractor to build and maintain secure, scalable backend applications for financial services clients. You’ll develop enterprise-grade services, integrate complex systems, and work with architects, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and client stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java 11+ and Spring Boot.
• Build RESTful APIs and event-driven microservices with secure, documented service contracts.
• Integrate applications with internal and third-party systems.
• Develop and optimize data-access layers, supporting performance, data integrity, and transaction consistency.
• Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and promote high-quality engineering practices.
• Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines, Agile delivery, defect resolution, and production releases.
• Tune application performance and apply secure-coding practices aligned with client requirements.

Required Skills

• Advanced Java development experience, including Java 11 or later.
• Advanced Spring Boot and microservices experience.
• Experience developing backend applications and RESTful APIs.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Swagger/OpenAPI and event-driven architecture.
• Apache Kafka and Apache Spark.
• Hibernate/JPA, SQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
• JUnit and Mockito.
• Maven or Gradle, Jenkins, Git, Docker, Jira, and Agile delivery practices.

The expected pay range for this contract assignment is $70-$75 per hour. The exact pay rate will vary based on skills, experience, and location and will be determined by the third-party whose employees provide services to Deloitte.
