Job Description

Overview

We’re looking for a Product Designer. Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, Right Balance provides top-tier technology talent for innovative companies in the US. We’re in the top 50 companies to watch in LA.

Engagement Details

Our client builds enterprise software that helps organizations make sense of large, complex datasets and workflows.

Our client’s mission is to help customers navigate complexity through better product experiences. Join their diverse group of focused, hardworking professionals who are passionate about doing work that’s challenging and fun, and who strive to maintain a healthy work/life balance.

Profile

This is a client delivery-focused Product Design role, not a strategic roadmap position. You’ll initially support one core product and a new customer engagement just getting underway, with the possibility of also working across a second related product as the client needs shift.

The ideal candidate excels at taking specific, sometimes messy customer requirements and translating them into thoughtful designs that fit within an existing product framework, think turning a client’s spreadsheet or operational process into a usable workflow, screen, or table. You’ll present designs directly to clients, ask good questions, explain your decisions, and incorporate feedback in real time.

Responsibilities

  • Design complex B2B product features, especially data-heavy workflows, tables, forms, and configuration screens.
  • Translate specific or messy customer requirements into thoughtful designs that fit within the framework of an existing product.
  • Present designs directly to clients, ask clarifying questions, explain design decisions, and incorporate feedback.
  • Exercise strong product judgment, going beyond the literal request to understand what the customer actually needs.
  • Work independently while collaborating closely with Product Managers and Engineering.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma.

Tools

  • Figma (required)
  • Pendo (nice to have)

Availability: Part-time (10-15 hrs/week) with flexibility to scale up or down based on client needs. Long term engagement.

  • Must have good overlap with Central Time (TX).

What’s in it for you?

  1. Learn and evolve your skills using the latest and greatest technology tools in a rapidly growing company.
  2. Learn from the best people around you. We constantly challenge the status quo and invent new ways of building a great product.
  3. 100% remote. Work anywhere, whether it is remotely in the comfort of your home, in a shared co-working space, in an RV on the beach, or while being a nomad in another country.
  4. Work on challenging problems, innovate, and positively impact many people’s lives while having fun doing it.

Required Qualifications

  • Upper-intermediate to fluent speaking and writing English. Able to have a real-time conversation.
  • 3+ years of full-time hands-on Product Design / UX/UI Design experience.
  • 3+ years of full-time hands-on Figma experience.
  • Experience designing complex B2B products and systems, especially data-heavy workflows, tables, forms, and configuration.
  • Strong ability to translate specific or messy customer requirements into thoughtful designs that fit within an existing product framework.
  • Strong product judgment and interaction design skills, able to understand what the customer actually needs, not just the literal request.
  • Able to work independently and collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineering teams.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, client-facing environments.

Nice to Haves

  1. Experience with Pendo.
  2. OMS (Order Management Systems) experience.
  3. Ad tech, media, revenue workflow, or other complex enterprise software experience.
  4. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent demonstrated ability.
