Job Description
I am working with a global private credit manager that is hiring a Director to originate asset-based finance deals across Europe. The role is based in London, with Frankfurt or Paris possible for the right person. It suits a structured finance specialist who wants to lead transactions on the buy side in one of the fastest-growing parts of private credit.
The Company:
A global alternative credit platform with a multi-billion capital base, expanding its asset-based finance activity in Europe
Flexible capital across the structure: senior and mezzanine warehouse lines, forward flows, portfolio acquisitions and risk-sharing trades with banks
Collateral spans consumer and SME lending, auto and equipment, mortgages, receivables, fund finance and other specialty finance assets
Strong tailwinds: bank risk transfer volumes keep setting records, and the addressable ABF market runs into the trillions
The Role:
- Originate opportunities across the UK and continental Europe with specialty lenders, fintechs, banks, sponsors and arrangers
- Lead structuring and execution: collateral analysis, cash-flow and waterfall modelling, stress testing, terms and documentation
- Source and execute SRT and other risk-sharing transactions with banks
- Present investment cases to investment committee and own the recommendation
- Build repeat relationships with originators, including follow-on and forward-flow capacity
- Work with portfolio management on performance, collateral reporting and amendments
- Mentor VPs and Associates and help shape the European ABF strategy
Your Profile:
- Director-level experience in securitisation, ABF, SRT, specialty finance or fund finance, at a bank or credit fund
- A record of originating and closing deals, with an established European counterparty network
- Strong structuring and modelling skills across consumer, SME or commercial asset pools
- Solid knowledge of securitisation and loan documentation and of the capital drivers behind bank risk transfer
- Clear credit judgement and the confidence to defend it at investment committee
- German or French is a plus, and helpful for Frankfurt or Paris
