Senior SQL/Python Developer

The Senior SQL/Python Developer will design, develop, and maintain robust data solutions that support business operations and data warehouse environments. This role focuses on SQL Server development, T-SQL programming, and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), alongside Python development to address evolving technical needs. You will optimize queries, build and maintain data processes, support reporting, and troubleshoot performance issues to ensure data solutions remain reliable and efficient. Working closely with technical and operational teams, you will contribute to development initiatives, quality assurance, and data migration activities. Accountabilities

• Develop, maintain, and support SQL Server solutions, with a strong focus on database development, T-SQL programming, and data management.
• Build, enhance, and maintain SSIS packages and ETL processes to support data integration, transformation, and migration requirements.
• Write, test, and maintain Python code to support development initiatives and meet the needs of internal technical teams.
• Create and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Support SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and related reporting solutions, ensuring accurate and dependable data outputs.
• Provide development and quality assurance support for database applications, identifying defects and resolving technical issues.
• Troubleshoot database performance and operational problems, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Work with operational databases and data warehouse systems to maintain data consistency and support business-critical processes.
• Apply sound data management principles and development best practices to produce high-quality, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with technical colleagues and stakeholders to clarify requirements, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver effective data solutions.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience as a SQL Server Developer or Database Administrator, particularly with SQL Server 2017, 2019, and/or 2022.
• Extensive knowledge of SQL Server development and database management principles, with a strong emphasis on hands-on coding.
• Advanced proficiency in T-SQL, including writing and optimizing queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.
• Practical experience developing and maintaining SSIS packages and ETL workflows.
• Familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and reporting-related development and support.
• Working knowledge of Python development and the ability to write code that supports data processing and technical workflows.
• Experience working with operational databases, data warehouse systems, and data integration processes.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex technical issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and stakeholders.
• A proactive, self-directed approach, with the flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities and direction.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• The ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative mindset and a strong commitment to code quality.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with AWS services, including S3, RDS, and EC2.
• Experience using AI-powered code generation tools for SQL and PowerShell development.
• Knowledge of Oracle databases and Oracle PL/SQL.
• Experience with Informatica development and data integration tools.
• Familiarity with workload automation platforms, ServiceNow, and change management processes.
