About the Role
The Data Centre market represents one of the largest and fastest-growing opportunities within Real Estate Digital. Accelerated by global investment in cloud infrastructure, AI, hyperscale campuses and mission-critical facilities, clients are seeking increasingly sophisticated digital capabilities to support the planning, delivery and operation of their assets.
We are seeking an experienced BIM Manager to lead the PMC BIM function on a major data centre project. The role provides project-wide governance and assurance, connecting client requirements with the work of designers, contractors, vendors and specialist package teams. You will make BIM practical, controlled and decision-focused, ensuring models, data and workflows support safe, coordinated delivery and a reliable handover.
Key responsibilities
- Lead BIM delivery for the PMC from design mobilisation through construction, close-out and handover, acting as the primary point of contact for BIM-related matters.
- Onboard architects, engineers, vendors and specialist package contractors to the project BIM processes, workflows, owner requirements and common data environment.
- Lead BIM kick-off sessions, review BIM content within project mobilisation materials and ensure delivery teams understand their obligations.
- Lead the review, development and maintenance of the BIM Execution Plan, supporting standards, model matrix, information requirements and agreed workflows.
- Manage compliance with client BIM requirements, including the quality, structure, coordination and timely submission of models and drawings.
- Plan and undertake model quality-control and model-health reviews using approved tools; assign issues to model owners and monitor corrective action.
- Establish and manage clash-detection and multidisciplinary coordination processes, maintaining clash sets as packages and project stages develop.
- Administer the CDE, including permissions, issues, checklists, RFIs, review workflows and model submission processes.
- Monitor model interface points, asset and data population, model package splits, model-freeze dates and other BIM milestones.
- Chair or coordinate weekly BIM meetings with designers, contractors and specialist package BIM leads; escalate unresolved risks through PMC governance.
- Maintain BIM dashboards and portfolio reporting, providing clear visibility of compliance, issues, trends, close-out readiness and delivery risk.
- Coordinate closely with the BIM Field Engineer so that site-verification findings, scan comparisons and construction deviations are reflected in model coordination and close-out.
- Lead BIM close-out, including submission planning, review workflows, drawing-index and model-matrix reconciliation, redline and as-built review, approvals and packaging of native deliverables.
Experience and qualifications
- Significant BIM management or digital delivery experience on complex construction programmes, ideally data centres, advanced manufacturing, life sciences or similarly services-intensive projects.
- Experience working for or alongside a PMC, client, main contractor, design consultant and specialist supply chain in a multi-party delivery environment.
- Demonstrable experience leading BIM mobilisation, coordination, assurance, reporting and handover across design and construction.
- Strong knowledge of information management principles and industry standards, including ISO 19650.
- Experience managing a common data environment and model review, approval and issue-management workflows.
- Relevant degree, HNC/HND or equivalent experience in construction, engineering, architecture, BIM or digital delivery.
- Professional accreditation or recognised BIM / information management certification is desirable.
