About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a technically minded General Manager to lead operational delivery and support the next stage of growth for an established satellite communications and connectivity technology business.
Working directly with the founders, you will oversee technical programmes, coordinate engineering resources and ensure the successful delivery of innovative connectivity solutions. Alongside technical leadership, you will take responsibility for financial performance, business planning and developing scalable operational processes.
Initially, the role will also involve commercial responsibilities and senior customer engagement, before transitioning primary commercial ownership to an incoming Sales & Marketing Director.

The Opportunity
- Lead complex technical programmes, coordinating engineering teams, resources and delivery milestones.
- Take ownership of operational delivery, financial performance and business planning.
- Translate technical roadmaps into structured delivery plans, ensuring successful execution.
- Develop scalable processes across engineering, integration, customer onboarding and technical support.
- Initially support commercial activities and strategic customer relationships before handing over primary ownership to a Sales & Marketing Director.
- Work directly with the founders, helping develop teams and shape the next stage of business growth.
To Be Successful, You’ll Need:
- Technical Programme Leadership: Experience managing complex engineering, software, telecommunications or connectivity programmes and multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Relevant Technical Background: Strong understanding of satellite communications, networking, SD-WAN, telecommunications infrastructure or mission-critical connectivity.
- Operational & Engineering Management: Ability to oversee technical delivery, manage resources and establish effective processes.
- Financial & Commercial Awareness: Experience managing budgets, supporting commercial decisions and ideally holding P&L responsibility.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Ability to bridge engineering, product development, operations and commercial teams.
- Independent Leadership: Comfortable working within a smaller, founder-led technology business, taking a hands-on approach to solving challenges.
