Kforce is an employer providing technology staffing and workforce solutions. Kforce is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a client focused on modernizing critical transaction and processing platforms.

About the Role

The Senior Java Developer will contribute to the modernization of legacy systems and the migration of services to a cloud-based architecture. The role focuses on building and maintaining scalable Java microservices that support high-volume retail transactions, order processing, pricing, and related business operations. The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve platform performance, reliability, and scalability while helping integrate AI-enabled solutions into development workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Java 21 or later and Spring Boot.
• Support the modernization of legacy applications and payment systems by migrating services to a centralized pricing and transaction platform.
• Build and enhance services that process high-volume retail transaction and order data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems supporting order management, point-of-sale (POS), pricing, and booking functions.
• Improve application performance, reliability, and scalability through modern cloud-native technologies.
• Use data-driven and AI-enabled solutions to enhance system capabilities and development processes.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
• Evaluate and review AI-generated code to ensure quality, maintainability, and security.
• Work with stakeholders in an Agile environment to understand business needs and support technical delivery.

Required Qualifications

• 4–7+ years of Java development experience, with Java 21 or later.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot.
• Strong cloud technology experience, with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders in a fast-paced Agile environment.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to connect technical solutions with business requirements.

Salary and Benefits

• Compensation will be determined based on factors such as education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, applicable union contracts, and business needs. The employer may modify the compensation range in the future.
• Eligible employees may receive medical, dental, and vision insurance, health savings accounts (HSA), flexible spending accounts (FSA), 401(k), life insurance, disability insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment (ADD) insurance.
• Salaried employees receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees working on Service Contract Act projects are eligible for paid sick leave.
• This position is not eligible for bonuses, incentives, or commissions.
