E-commerce Site Planning & Operations Specialist

Columbus, OH - Fully Remote

3-month contract with likely extension and/or conversion

Full Time – 40 hours/week

Position Overview

Our leading children’s media and education client is seeking an experienced E-commerce Site Planning & Operations Specialist to support and coordinate its end-to-end e-commerce experience during a critical seasonal period, with potential to contribute to longer-term digital commerce initiatives.

This individual will sit at the center of the e-commerce experience, connecting business priorities, seasonal strategies, creative development, product merchandising, promotional planning, and website execution. Working across multiple teams, the contractor will help translate marketing and business objectives into cohesive, customer-facing site experiences while ensuring campaigns, products, and promotions are planned, activated, and executed effectively.

The ideal candidate combines strong e-commerce site planning and merchandising experience with exceptional project management, communication, and execution skills. They can quickly understand existing processes, build relationships across teams, independently manage interconnected workstreams, and hit the ground running with minimal onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Seasonal Site Planning: Develop and manage seasonal e-commerce site plans, including site layouts, wireframes, creative requests, promotional calendars, product sequencing, and content priorities aligned with business objectives.
  • E-commerce Merchandising: Manage site merchandising and product placement, coordinate new product introductions, and ensure the online experience reflects current seasonal priorities, product availability, and business strategies.
  • Creative and Content Coordination: Partner with creative teams to develop and coordinate site assets, wireframes, mockups, and content requests. Leverage established creative toolkits and adapt existing resources to meet campaign and site needs.
  • Promotional Planning and Activation: Coordinate pricing and promotional strategies, maintain alignment across calendars and business partners, and oversee the activation of campaigns and offers across the site.
  • Cross-Functional Site Orchestration: Serve as a central point of coordination across e-commerce, creative, marketing, traffic-driving channels, and digital operations to ensure a cohesive customer experience and alignment on priorities, timing, and deliverables.
  • Site Flips and Digital Operations: Plan and coordinate site updates and seasonal transitions with the digital operations team, ensuring creative assets, product information, promotional details, approvals, and publishing requirements are aligned.
  • Execution Oversight and Quality Assurance: Monitor the implementation of site plans, review updates for accuracy and consistency, identify gaps or issues, and coordinate timely resolution before and after launches, as appropriate.
  • Performance Analysis: Review promotional and site performance, assess results against business objectives, and share insights that can inform future campaigns, merchandising decisions, and seasonal planning.
  • Project and Stakeholder Management: Manage multiple concurrent workstreams, maintain calendars and timelines, communicate status updates, follow up on dependencies, and proactively resolve issues that could affect launch execution.

Qualifications

  • 3-6+ years of experience in e-commerce, digital commerce, site merchandising, e-commerce operations, digital marketing operations, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating seasonal website planning, digital campaigns, product merchandising, promotional calendars, or site updates.
  • Strong understanding of how business priorities, creative assets, product placement, promotional offers, and traffic-driving channels come together to create a cohesive e-commerce experience.
  • Experience partnering with creative teams and digital operations to coordinate website updates from initial planning through execution and launch.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, deadlines, dependencies, and competing priorities.
