100% Remote

6+ month contract

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support production-quality software supporting related AI products.
• Build and enhance scalable applications, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Collaborate with machine learning scientists and engineers to integrate AI capabilities into products, agents, and workflows.
• Work closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to define practical technical solutions.
• Break down complex or ambiguous requirements into well-defined engineering tasks.
• Contribute to architecture, technical standards, coding practices, and engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot performance, reliability, scalability, and integration issues in production environments.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, Agile ceremonies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical mentorship and support to other engineers.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, testing, and documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience designing and developing large-scale, distributed, or cloud-based systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, preferably using FastAPI.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL or another relational database.
• Strong understanding of microservices and distributed-systems architecture.
• Experience with Docker and containerized application development.
• Experience with automated testing and test-driven development practices.
• Experience with Kafka or comparable messaging, streaming, or queueing technology.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and Agile/Scrum development practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience using AI technologies, including large language models, AI agents, or AI-enabled development tools.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native application deployment.
• Experience building AI-powered products, agents, platforms, or developer tools.
• Experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or comparable tools.
• Experience working with machine learning engineers, data scientists, or applied AI teams.
• Experience operating software in security-sensitive, regulated, government, or mission-critical environments.
• Experience with observability, performance optimization, and production operations.
• Experience working in an early-stage, high-growth, or highly entrepreneurial technology environment.
