Our work spans new construction, adaptive reuse, renovations, and interior architecture, with an emphasis on thoughtful design and technical excellence.

Recognized by The Architect’s Newspaper as a 2025 Best of Practice – Small Firm (Northeast), we are a collaborative, design-focused studio seeking a talented and motivated Intermediate Architect / Architectural Designer to join our growing team.

The Opportunity We are looking for someone who enjoys both the creative and technical aspects of architecture and is eager to take ownership of projects from design through construction. Working closely with the firm’s partners, you will contribute meaningfully to design decisions, interact directly with clients, and develop your project-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate design concepts in collaboration with the team.
  • Prepare design presentations, schematic design, design development, and construction document sets.
  • Manage smaller projects with partner oversight, including project schedules, deliverables, and client communication.
  • Coordinate with structural, MEP, lighting, and other consultants.

  • Collaborate with and provide guidance to junior team members.

Qualifications

  • Approximately 4–7 years of professional architectural experience, preferably in NYC.
  • Professional degree in Architecture.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience producing coordinated construction documents and architectural details.
  • Working knowledge of NYC building codes, construction methods, and DOB permitting processes.
  • Experience with consultant coordination and construction administration.
  • Strong design sensibility, organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small studio environment.

Experience with NYC residential renovations, commercial interiors, or adaptive reuse projects is a plus.

Why NDNY? At NDNY, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects—from private residences and commercial interiors to restaurants, and public-sector buildings—gaining hands-on experience across different building types and all phases of design and construction. As part of a small, collaborative studio, you’ll work directly with experienced partners, contribute to meaningful design decisions, and take on increasing responsibility as you grow professionally. We value creativity, initiative, and a supportive studio culture that emphasizes flexibility, reasonable working hours, and a healthy work-life balance.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual salary of $70,000–$90,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Employer-subsidized health insurance.
  • Paid vacation and holidays.
  • Remote work flexibility on select days, subject to firm/project needs.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and mentorship.

This is a full-time, NYC-based position with regular in-studio collaboration. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
