Product Designer

Company Description Superfan.ng is an edtech learning platform focused on African languages and cultural knowledge. The platform uses a gamified, quiz-first experience to test deep understanding of African proverbs, traditions, rites of passage, festivals, folklore, and customs. Designed for Africans and the global diaspora, Superfan.ng aims to make learning engaging, culturally relevant, and accessible. Team members contribute to a product that celebrates African heritage while helping learners connect more deeply with their roots.

Role Description As a Product Designer at Superfan.ng, you will design end-to-end product experiences for a gamified learning platform. You will translate user needs and business goals into intuitive interfaces, create wireframes and prototypes, and refine visual designs for mobile and web experiences. Day-to-day, you will collaborate with product, engineering, and content teams, conduct user research and usability testing, and iterate based on data and feedback. You will also contribute to design systems, ensure a consistent visual language, and help evolve the product’s interaction patterns. This is a full-time remote role.

Qualifications

• Strong Product Design and Design Thinking skills to shape user-centered features and end-to-end experiences.
• Experience with User Research and UX Research to plan studies, gather insights, and validate design decisions.
• Proficiency in Visual Design to create clean, engaging interfaces and maintain consistent design systems.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and content teams in a remote, distributed environment.
• Comfort with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD or similar).
• Understanding of mobile-first and responsive design principles; experience designing for consumer-facing apps.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present and justify design decisions clearly.
• Interest in African languages and cultures; experience in edtech or gamified products is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
