Senior Product Designer

Company Description Superfan.ng is an edtech learning platform dedicated to African languages and cultural knowledge. The product is a gamified, quiz-first app that explores African proverbs, traditions, rites of passage, festivals, folklore, and customs. Designed for Africans and the global diaspora, Superfan.ng aims to make learning engaging, culturally relevant, and accessible. The team focuses on building immersive experiences that connect users more deeply with African heritage while continually evolving the platform’s content and features.

Role Description As a Senior Product Designer at Superfan.ng, you will lead end-to-end product design for our learning platform, from discovery and ideation through prototyping and final delivery. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, content, and marketing teams to translate cultural learning goals into intuitive, visually compelling user experiences. Day-to-day, you will conduct user research, define interaction patterns, create high-fidelity interfaces, and iterate based on data and feedback. You will also help refine design processes, mentor other designers, and champion user-centered design across the organization. This is a full-time, remote role.

Qualifications

• Strong product design skills, including experience owning end-to-end Product Design for digital products.
• Expertise in Design Thinking and UX Research to frame problems, validate hypotheses, and inform design decisions.
• Proficiency in Visual Design, including layout, typography, color, and design systems for web and mobile interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with User Research methods such as interviews, usability testing, and surveys.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams, communicate design rationale clearly, and iterate quickly based on feedback.
• Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD or similar) and collaborative workflows.
• Experience designing consumer-facing or edtech products; familiarity with gamified experiences is a plus.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating thoughtful product decisions, clear problem solving, and measurable impact.
• Comfort working in a remote, fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities independently.
• Interest in African languages, culture, or diaspora communities is highly beneficial; prior work in culturally informed design is a plus.
