About the Opportunity:

The SR. AI/ML ENGINEER role involves designing, building, and deploying secure, scalable AI-powered applications that enhance underwriting and benefits planning processes. This position drives modernization efforts by integrating advanced AI technologies, automating workflows, and improving operational efficiency, thereby supporting the organization’s goal to transform healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions with an emphasis on responsible AI use
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation pipelines integrating enterprise knowledge sources and LLM orchestration
• Support agentic AI architectures with secure, interoperable workflow execution
• Utilize enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows and automate engineering tasks
• Evaluate AI/ML trends and tools to inform solution design and strategic initiatives
• Develop and optimize AI/ML capabilities using Python to meet underwriting and benefit needs
• Build and maintain secure API endpoints exposing ML models and LLM functionalities
• Integrate LLMs and advanced AI models into production to enhance workflows and efficiency
• Collaborate with engineering and underwriting teams to deliver scalable ML pipelines and microservices
• Ensure deployed models meet availability, security, and performance standards through testing and monitoring

Requirements:

• 5+ years in software, system integration, or machine learning engineering
• 3+ years of full stack development using JavaScript/TypeScript, front-end frameworks, backend services, and databases
• 3+ years developing and deploying robust web APIs in production
• 3+ years programming in Python with ML libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow)
• 1+ years working with Large Language Models or generative AI
• Experience designing or implementing retrieval-augmented generation pipelines
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• The salary for this role will range from $120,100 to $214,500 annually based on full-time
