Front-End Engineer (React/TypeScript), Contract-to-Hire

Remote (US), Eastern-hours overlap 1099 contract, ~20 hrs/week, converts to full-time for the right fit Pay: $50-65/hr

About the role

Cruz Street builds web applications for healthcare and pharma contracting. You will productionize UI for admin portals, multi-tenant portals for manufacturers and health plans, and data-heavy dashboards, and you will work alongside an offshore UI team.

Cruz Street is a fully agentic shop. We expect every engineer, front-end and data engineers alike, to work agentically: directing and reviewing AI coding agents (such as Claude Code) as a core part of the daily work. We want skilled technical contributors who own the quality of what ships.

Responsibilities

• Build production React/TypeScript UI and shared components

• Convert prototypes (for example, Replit builds) into tested, maintainable code

• Collaborate with and review code from our offshore UI team

• Own UAT support on client data that requires US-based staff, in a HIPAA-aware environment

Requirements

• US-based and authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

• Strong React and TypeScript; Tailwind and component-library experience

• Hands-on experience directing and reviewing AI coding agents (such as Claude Code) in daily development

• A production UI you can link to

• Availability of about 20 hrs/week with Eastern-hours overlap

Nice to have

AWS (Amplify, Cognito, S3, CloudFront), dashboards and charting, healthcare/HIPAA experience

Hiring process

Our contracts require stateside contributors, and official verification may be required. Process: a short video screen, then a final interview (which may require an in-person visit).

Pay: $50.00 - $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
