Senior UI/UX Designer (Shopify)

About the Role

Are you a senior designer with a distinct creative point of view, an obsessive eye for typography , and a deep understanding of high-converting Shopify design ?

We are seeking a high-caliber designer, someone with an artistic heart and who knows when to bring expressive, unexpected design and when to lean into precision and restraint.

You’ll work directly with the Founder & Creative Director and a PH-based Project Manager, you will own the end-to-end design journey from leading client discovery calls to setting up master Figma systems and shipping live Shopify stores.

Work Set-up: 100% Work from home

Work Schedule: Early Day Shift - 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM Philippine Time (aligned with Australian Business Hours)

Job Responsibilities:

• Own the Creative Direction: Interpret open briefs, research intentional typographic voices, and craft original visual concepts backed by a strong rationale.
• Lead E-Commerce Discovery & Strategy: Run discovery calls with clients, present design directions, translate feedback, and guide brand storytelling through seamless navigation, product discovery, and checkout journeys.
• Build Advanced Figma Systems: Set up master sheets, style guides, responsive layouts, components, section systems, and interactive prototypes ready for dev handoff.
• Leverage Next-Gen AI Workflows: Integree AI tools seamlessly into your daily workflow—using tools like Figma Make, Claude, ChatGPT, Magnific, and FAL.ai for image creation, prototyping, and visual exploration.
• Protect the Craft Through Launch: Collaborate with developers, navigate Shopify constraints, review builds with care, and maintain the initial creative concept across every component and screen.

Job Requirement & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 Years of Proven Senior Experience: A high-caliber agency background with a portfolio of live, high-performing Shopify sites.
• Raw Figma or Live Proof (Non-Negotiable): You can share working Figma master files or live Shopify site links, or screen recordings demonstrating real layout structures and interactive components (not just static PDFs or generic mockups).
• Typographic Mastery: A deep love for typography. You follow independent type foundries, stay ahead of editorial and brand design trends, and handle pairing, kerning, tracking, and responsive typesetting with precision.
• Advanced Tooling: Expertise in Figma and Adobe Illustrator/Creative Cloud, alongside active experience using modern AI design tools.
• Confident Client-Facing Communication: Exceptional spoken and written English. You are comfortable leading client calls (camera-on per studio policy), presenting creative rationales, and handling feedback directly.
• Broad Creative References: Your inspiration extends beyond e-commerce into graphic design, editorial, art, fashion, photography, or architecture.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Motion design and advanced interactive prototyping capabilities.
• Familiarity with the Shopify theme editor, sections, and Liquid.
• Light project management experience.

2. Portfolio Review: Review of your working Figma master sheets or live Shopify site links or screen recordings demonstrating real layout by the client
3. First Level Client Interview: Directly with Founder & Creative Director
4. Practical Assessment: A take home hands-on design evaluation in Figma.
