AI Research Scientist, Agentic Systems (Remote)

For our client, we are seeking a AI Research Scientist, Agentic Systems to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role sits at the intersection of advanced AI research and security operations, with a focus on developing agentic systems that can improve how analysts work. You will partner closely with threat research and cybersecurity experts to build, evaluate, and refine models and workflows that automate complex security tasks. The position combines hands-on experimentation, rigorous benchmarking, and model optimization to advance practical AI capabilities in a mission-critical environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $120,000 – $180,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with AI and threat research teams to improve analyst workflows
• Post-train LLMs and agents to automate security tasks
• Develop AI agents and complex workflows for planning and reasoning
• Research and prototype state-of-the-art agentic planning methods
• Establish benchmarks for agentic systems with statistical rigor
• Optimize model prompts and inference for maximum performance
• Partner with cybersecurity experts to enhance operational outcomes

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in machine learning, probability, and statistics
• PhD-level understanding of modern machine learning research or equivalent mastery
• Experience training generative models and knowledge of LLM fundamentals
• Core skills in reinforcement learning and post-training techniques
• Experience building agentic systems and managing context retrieval
• Proficiency in systematic prompt optimization and designing evals for LLM systems
• Fluency with GPUs, PyTorch, and LLM training stacks
