Senior Counsel, AI & Legal Technology

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Counsel, AI & Legal Technology to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will serve as a key legal partner across AI, product development, and marketing initiatives, helping the business navigate a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape. The ideal candidate will provide practical, business-oriented counsel on emerging AI issues while supporting commercialization, vendor relationships, and customer-facing materials. This position also plays an important role in shaping internal policies and best practices that enable innovation with appropriate legal and compliance guardrails.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $160,000 – $190,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal advisor for AI, product development, and marketing
• Monitor and interpret AI law and regulations, providing actionable guidance
• Develop internal policies and best practices for compliance with emerging laws
• Negotiate terms with software vendors and strategic partners
• Review AI-specific terms in agreements and customer-facing materials
• Advise on product launches and go-to-market strategies
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various teams to support strategic initiatives

Qualifications

• 6+ years of in-house or law firm experience in technology law, particularly AI and legal technology
• Deep knowledge of AI regulatory frameworks, including U.S. and international laws
• Experience with software development and open source licensing issues
• Strong understanding of marketing law and FTC regulations
• Proven ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-lawyers
• JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership
