Senior Project Manager – Data Centre Preconstruction

We’re working with a growing construction consultancy seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support the preconstruction and early-stage delivery of major data centre projects in Norway.

This is an opportunity for a project management professional with a strong background in data centre construction to take ownership of the preconstruction phase, working closely with clients, consultants and contractors to establish the foundations for successful project delivery.

The role can be based in either London or Dublin , with travel to Norway approximately once or twice a month.

The Role:

You will lead and coordinate preconstruction activities, ensuring projects are developed with clear programmes, robust technical solutions and effective commercial and delivery strategies ahead of construction.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading preconstruction activities across major data centre projects, from early planning and design development through to construction readiness.
• Coordinating multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, contractors and specialist MEP stakeholders.
• Managing design reviews, technical interfaces, buildability assessments and risk identification.
• Overseeing programme development, milestones, procurement planning and long-lead equipment requirements.
• Supporting cost planning, tender processes, value engineering and change management.
• Identifying and resolving design, programme and delivery risks before they impact construction.
• Managing client relationships, progress meetings, reporting and key project decisions.
• Ensuring a smooth transition from preconstruction into the construction and delivery phases.

About You

We’re keen to speak with experienced project managers who understand the complexities of delivering data centre developments and can confidently manage the early stages of a project.

You will ideally bring:

• Proven experience in project management within the data centre construction sector .
• Strong preconstruction experience, including design coordination, procurement planning, programme development and construction readiness.
• A solid understanding of MEP systems and the technical interfaces involved in data centre developments.
• Experience managing consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage programme, cost, quality and risk.
• Excellent client-facing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The flexibility to travel to Norway once or twice a month.

Experience working on hyperscale or other large-scale mission-critical developments would be highly advantageous.
