Our client is a growing consumer lifestyle brand with a team of 150+. Its products are stocked by some of the UK’s best-known retailers and sold around the world. Amazon is one of the business’s biggest growth areas, growing significantly year on year across the UK, Europe and the US.
The business is also well ahead of the curve on AI. AI isn’t a side project here: it’s built into how the business runs. On Amazon, AI already does much of the heavy lifting. It’s used to analyse trading performance by territory and SKU, spot growth opportunities, track competitor pricing and activity, measure advertising performance, and produce regular reporting. The result is a team that spends less time pulling numbers together and more time acting on them.
The role
This is a brand new role. The Amazon Trading Manager will turn the business’s AI-led analysis into action on Amazon. Because the analysis is largely done by AI, this role isn’t about building spreadsheets. The Amazon Trading Manager will check the AI-generated insight, decide what matters most, and split the work between the internal team and an external team. Every task should go to the right people, with the right priority, and be delivered on time.
It’s a role that combines strong project management with real Amazon expertise. Hands-on Amazon experience is essential, because the Amazon Trading Manager needs to know what good looks like, which opportunities to prioritise, and what each task involves. Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee trading across the UK, EU and US, with Vendor Central at the core.
Key responsibilities
Workflow, prioritisation and delivery
- Review and verify the AI-generated analysis, sense-checking the data before it drives decisions.
- Turn insight into a clear, prioritised plan of work for the Amazon channel.
- Split the work between the internal and external teams, briefing tasks clearly and setting priorities and deadlines.
- Run the day-to-day workflow, tracking progress and making sure work is delivered accurately and on time.
- Be the central point of coordination between the internal team, the external team and wider departments such as Product, Supply Chain and Marketing.
- Keep improving how the team works, using AI, automation and marketplace technology to work faster and smarter.
Trading and commercial performance
- Oversee the daily, weekly and monthly trading performance of the Amazon channel, including sales, margin, Buy Box %, conversion, ROAS and stock availability.
- Make sure the work being prioritised drives the greatest opportunities for profitable growth by territory and SKU.
- Work closely with Merchandising and Supply Chain on forecasting and stock, maximising availability while managing stock risk.
- Plan and deliver key trading moments such as Prime Day and peak season.
- Spot new product and listing opportunities, working with product developers and supply chain to turn them into revenue earners on Amazon.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with Amazon contacts.
Advertising and marketing
- Oversee Amazon PPC activity across Sponsored Products, Brands and Display, making sure advertising budget is used to deliver against the channel’s sales targets.
- Work with marketing and creative teams to strengthen brand presence on Amazon.
Reporting
- Share clear performance updates with the CEO and internal stakeholders, with owners and next steps for agreed actions.
- Keep track of competitor activity on pricing, content, reviews and advertising.
- The person
- The ideal candidate is an experienced Amazon trader who loves bringing order, pace and focus to a busy team. You will combine solid hands-on Amazon knowledge with strong project management skills and experience of using AI.
Experience
- Hands-on experience trading a consumer brand on Amazon, ideally with Vendor Central experience across the UK, EU and/or US.
- Strong working knowledge of Seller Central.
- Proven project management experience: planning workloads, setting priorities and delivering through others.
- Experience managing work across internal and external teams, agencies or virtual assistants.
- Experience of Amazon PPC, stock and forecasting, and key trading moments such as Prime Day and peak.
- Confident working with data and able to sense-check analysis, without needing to build it all from scratch.
