About the Role

We’re urgently looking for a Java Developer to join our engineering team on a greenfield project, working alongside another team that is building a mobile application.

Our engineers are responsible for the correctness of their code and its output, so we put a strong emphasis on automated testing and validation. Whether a team runs Kanban or Scrum, regular retrospectives are the heartbeat of our continuous improvement. Design and code reviews and knowledge sharing keep our organization running smoothly, because two brains are better than one.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, test and deploy microservices in the cloud (AWS)
• Support other business units by investigating problems, querying data and building tools for them
• Work in a highly collaborative, paired environment to solve complex problems
• Work with the full engineering team to keep improving our architecture and processes
• Prototype new concepts, features and uses of technology
• Automate as much as possible

What You Must Have

• At least 2 years of software development experience (this may include experience gained at school)
• Proficiency with Java, Spring and Spring Boot
• Proficiency with concurrent programming principles and basic design patterns
• Excellent verbal communication, remote development and solid problem-solving skills
• A BSc, BA, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

Compensation
