Role Description:

We’re hiring a Senior Java Developer to join a global energy technology group, working on a large-scale internal platform used across the business.

You’ll build and improve backend services, design clean and scalable APIs, and develop event-driven microservices as part of a distributed team, while helping shape technical decisions and supporting less experienced developers.

What You’ll Do:

• Build and improve backend services using modern Java and Spring Boot
• Design clean, scalable REST APIs and integrations with internal systems
• Develop event-driven microservices using Kafka and RabbitMQ
• Deliver new features and improve performance with a distributed team
• Write well-tested, maintainable code and support production releases
• Support less experienced developers and contribute to technical decisions

What We’re Looking For:

• Essential: Senior-level commercial experience as a Java developer with modern Java (17+)
• Solid experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices on large, complex systems
• Hands-on Kafka and RabbitMQ messaging experience
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
• Familiar with Git, CI/CD and automated testing
• AWS, Docker, Kubernetes and banking or large enterprise experience are a strong plus
• Freelancer with your own registered company, available to start immediately
