AI Engineer

One of the world’s largest third-party claims administration and risk management organizations is searching for several AI Engineers with varying degrees of seniority to build out their internal AI tool 100% remotely . In this role, you will tackle a massive, greenfield initiative to architect and deploy an enterprise-scale Generative AI platform from the ground up. You will work closely with front-line claims examiners and operational teams to embed production-grade AI agents directly into everyday business processes, fundamentally transforming the customer experience and setting the standard for AI adoption across the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and operate production-grade Generative AI agents , workflows , and tools that automate and enhance complex business workflows.
• Develop robust backend services and APIs in Python , including request orchestration, tool execution, and integration with legacy enterprise systems.
• Construct intuitive React user interfaces that surface AI recommendations, provenance, drafts, and exceptions directly into operational workflows.
• Own infrastructure as code and deployment automation on AWS utilizing Terraform and GitHub Actions for continuous integration and delivery.
• Engineer human-in-the-loop review mechanisms, fallback logic, deterministic guardrails, and telemetry to ensure output correctness, security, and compliance.
• Collaborate directly with claims examiners, nurse reviewers, and operational specialists to uncover pain points and turn real-world observations into high-impact software solutions.
• Contribute reusable modules, shared context stores, and standardized evaluation benchmarks across the pod to avoid duplicate builds.
• Drive code quality, peer reviews, technical mentorship, and platform reliability across all deployed AI services.

Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 2 to 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Hands-on experience taking Generative AI agents , workflows , or applications into live production environments, complete with failure handling and human review loops (not limited to notebooks, demos, or API wrappers).
• Strong full-stack programming capabilities using Python and React with solid knowledge of REST APIs and relational databases.
• Direct hands-on experience provisioning, operating, and troubleshooting workloads in production AWS environments.
• Practical mastery of Terraform for infrastructure as code and GitHub Actions for automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to engage directly with non-technical business users, extract requirements, and translate them into production software.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline.
• Experience with machine learning workflows, model evaluation, and fine-tuning.
• Hands-on exposure to graph databases such as Neo4j for knowledge retrieval.
• Familiarity with agentic frameworks such as PydanticAI .
• Working knowledge of agent observability, telemetry, and LLMOps / AI Ops practices.
• Domain background in insurance, claims processing, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments.
