Applied AI Engineer – Enterprise AI & Automation (Remote - India)

Applied AI Engineer Enterprise AI & Automation (Remote - India) We are seeking a hands-on Applied AI Engineer for a global technology company to build and improve AI-powered applications, assistants, agents, and automations within the HR/People organization. The role focuses on developing practical solutions to business needs, connecting enterprise systems, and improving workflows through applied AI. The engineer will work with stakeholders to understand requirements, build working solutions, and refine them based on feedback and results.

This is a 6-month contract (extensions possible), remote in India. Candidates should be comfortable with some overlap with US Pacific working hours.

This role is as an employee of Stage 4 Solutions India Private Ltd.

Responsibilities

• Business Collaboration: Work with People organization stakeholders to understand business needs and identify opportunities for AI-powered solutions.
• AI Application Development: Build and improve AI applications, assistants, agents, and automated workflows for practical business use cases.
• Integration: Connect AI solutions with enterprise applications and data sources using APIs and appropriate integration methods.
• Development: Write, review, debug, and maintain code, primarily using Python, and use SQL to query and work with data.
• LLM Application Development: Apply prompt and context design, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and structured outputs where appropriate.
• Testing and Improvement: Test AI outputs, investigate inconsistent results, and improve reliability through validation and troubleshooting.
• Collaboration and Delivery: Use version control and sound development practices, and collaborate with stakeholders and IT teams as needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience in software development, AI application development, or workflow automation, with hands-on experience building and implementing AI-powered applications using large language models (LLMs), AI assistants, agents, or automated workflows.
• Strong Python skills, including the ability to understand, write, review, and troubleshoot code.
• Working knowledge of SQL and experience querying or working with structured data.
• Experience integrating applications or services using REST APIs, JSON, authentication, and related integration concepts.
• Understanding of practical LLM application development, including prompt/context design and evaluation of AI outputs.
• Experience with software development fundamentals such as Git/GitHub, testing, debugging, and logging.
• Experience with enterprise platforms such as Workday, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Snowflake, or comparable applications is preferred.
• Experience supporting a People, HR, or Talent Acquisition team, including recruiting, onboarding, employee support, or HR process automation, is preferred
• Bachelor s Degree in a technical subject.
