A leading engineering and construction organisation is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of commercial construction projects across the United States.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in construction project coordination, project engineering or project administration who is looking to develop their project management career.

Working closely with Project Managers, site teams, subcontractors and clients, you will support project planning, procurement, cost control, scheduling, documentation and overall project delivery from initiation through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with the planning, coordination and execution of construction projects.
• Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and design consultants.
• Maintain project documentation, including contracts, drawings, specifications, RFIs and submittals.
• Assist with budget monitoring, cost reports, forecasts, invoices and change orders.
• Support subcontractor procurement, agreement administration and compliance documentation.
• Track project schedules, deliverables and progress, escalating potential delays or conflicts.
• Attend project meetings and assist with meeting minutes, action items and status reports.
• Support quality control documentation, punch lists and project closeout.
• Coordinate handover documentation, including warranties, as-built drawings and O&M manuals.
• Help ensure compliance with project safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in commercial construction, project engineering or construction project coordination.
• Experience supporting large-scale construction projects is advantageous.
• Exposure to data centre, mission-critical or complex infrastructure projects is beneficial.
• Understanding of construction processes, including RFIs, submittals, change orders and cost tracking.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction management platforms such as Procore or Autodesk.
• Experience with Bluebeam or similar document review software is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 or other scheduling software is preferred.
• A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent industry experience may be considered.

Work Environment

This role combines office-based work with visits to active construction sites and regular interaction with project teams, subcontractors and clients.
